Bebop is an invigorating sub-genre of jazz that was first introduced to the music scene in the early 1940s. Categorized by its fast tempo and nonsensical scat lyrics, it became a popular movement in the midst of World War II. This style of jazz, that was seemingly even more loose, let artists and dancers alike forget about the war overseas.

The slow decline of Swing music had to be replaced with something else. Bebop was frantic and focused on musical harmonies rather than melodies. It was a protest, as was most Black-made music in the early 19th century.

So now that you know just a little bit about this fascinating genre, how do you think you would fare as a booking agent in one of the largest jazz festivals this side of the Mississippi? Sit your clients where they can hear their favorite instruments, sit them next to family and friends, and earn points based on the quality of your placement. This tile placement game has you persuading fans and eagerly looking to fill up seats. I don't know about you, but my favorite instrument is the sax, though most bebop is categorized by its trumpets, brass, bass, and drums.

Everdell: The Complete Collection Even though this box doesn't come with bit bowls, if you're a true Everdell fanatic that will be the least of your worries bringing this big mega box home. This set includes six different expansions all in one while bundling the class and style of the original box. Build your city and help your furry friends battle Rugwort and Nightweave—with the help of the illustrious Legends II and Corrin Evertail, of course.

The scenery of this game will have you wanting to replay it over and over again. With such an easy premise and well-thought-out mechanics, it's sure to be the Everdell lover's favorite purchase of the year. They even went ahead and consolidated the rulebook and gave the players a real wooden Everdell tree. With all its fun bits and bobs, tactile lovers will get a kick out of this.

"I like creating artwork that tells a story within the small, subtle detailing. I particularly like creating environments with these kinds of easter eggs that could lead to a whole new story or adventure in the viewer’s mind."
 – Naomi Robinson, quote from one of the Everdell illustrators.

The Ministry of Lost Things: Case 1 - Lint Condition
From the creators of The Light in the Mist and Emerald Flame, PostCurious Games has a new puzzle game hitting stores. As a scout for the Ministry of Lost Things, it’s your sole duty to track down and find lost trinkets taken from your world.

In this quaint box, you will find envelopes and clues to help track down the items and their owner. Lint Condition is an easy-weight adventure puzzle game that will have you advancing on a journey for sentimental items—maybe it will even transport you back to a time of nostalgia. Talk to sentient sock puppets and wander the Lipstick Lounge in search of precious lost items.

Ichor
Now this is a really cool-looking game. I was more of a Harry Potter kid myself, but I remember wanting to get into Camp Half-Blood and wondering what God or Goddess I might descend from. So if The Lightning Thief impassioned you for Greek mythos, then this is the game for you.

This asymmetrical game plays with two people—one playing as the Gods of Olympus, while the other plays as the great monsters of Greek mythos (think Medusa and harpies). This is your last chance to defend Mount Olympus from complete annihilation.

In this battle of wits, you may move one of your characters on your turn in a straight line as many spaces as you wish, placing your tokens in your path. Never go over another character or end on one. Fill the board with your pieces while replacing your opponent’s to win.

House of Fado
Our second music game on the list! If you aren't familiar with Portuguese Fado music, this game might be a great introduction. Fado has deep roots in Lisbon, Portugal—a beautiful and traditional form of music. With usually one singer accompanied by a Guitarra Portuguesa and a Viola de Fado, this music makes use of poems and emotional lyrics to create a melancholic sound.

In the game House of Fado, similarly to the board game The Gallerist, you must use bump actions to move your employees around as you manage your own Fado house. As the manager of your own restaurant, you must promote your musicians and Fadistas, gain notoriety, and aim for popularity. With the longing, yearning tunes played by your musicians, this historical and urban musical tradition is sure to make your establishment a hit!

Bloomchasers
This is a beautified 3D game where you must grow and bloom to win. Easy, right? Play solo, co-op, or competitively and read the seasons to see when it’s time for you to grow. Outsmart your opponents and place your buds strategically so when a bloom card is pulled, you get the points (and your opponents don’t)!

Shuffle and Swing
Shuffle and Swing are two mice that love jazz, so they decided to open an instrument-making factory. You've been hired to manage and oversee the work of cat and mouse, so make sure you're efficient to get noticed by your bosses!

Psychic Pizza Deliverers Go to Ghost Town
As a pizza delivery professional, you have some mild psychic powers, which is perfect because every professional has those, right? The mayor has built this town and placed ghosts all within it, so it's your job to dodge ghosts and deliver those pizzas! Make sure to avoid obstacles so you don't revert or hinder your progress.
