Event Information

Fall in love with high-level competition at Heart of the Storm, our Valentine’s Day Competitive REL cEDH tournament at Cape Fear Games. Battle through intense Swiss rounds under Competitive REL using the TopDeck MTRa/IPGa guidelines and the official EDH ban list, all for a shot at a Tropical Island and a stacked prize pool. Bring your sharpest deck, your strongest plays, and your biggest heart: this one’s for players who love the storm. Entry Fee: $50 entry + $6 (8% taxes & $2 paypal fees) = $56

Rules

• This tournament has a 64-player cap.
• Up to 5 rounds of Swiss.
• Each round will be 80 minutes.
• When time in the round is called, the game will end after the active player finishes their turn. At the end of 15 minutes after time is called, the stack is cleared, and the game is declared a draw. This rule does not apply once we cut to top players.
• Wins are worth 5 points, draws are worth 1 point.
• After Swiss, there will be a cut to the top players based on total points.
• This tournament will use the MTRa/IPGa guidelines developed by TopDeck and will follow Competitive REL standards.
• Pairings and turn order will be determined using Command Tower software.
• Refund requests required by 2/7.

Proxies Allowed: Printed, full color, official art proxies only. Proxies and deck must be uniform. All proxies must be legible by your opponents.

Prizing

Prize Support:

• 1st Place - Tropical Island and Store Credit Prize Payout

• Top Cut - Store Credit Prize Payout

64 player prizing structure:

• 1st Place - $550 SC + Tropical Island (or $450 SC)
• 2nd-4th Place - $300 SC
• 5th-16th - $75 SC

30 player prizing structure :

• 1st Place - $425 SC or Tropical Island
• 2nd-4th Place - $150 SC
• 5th-16th Place - $80 SC

$45 per player into the prize pool. $5 per player goes to judges and sanctioning.
